Zaineb Sohail

Meet Zaineb: One of our particularly innovative senior-level College Readiness consultants with a background in economics and a fluency in the Spanish language. Zaineb cares deeply about her students and works to ensure that they never have to compromise their higher education dreams for anything.

Zaineb completed her undergraduate degree at Pitzer College with a B.A. in Economics and Spanish. She served as President of the Student Investment Club for two years in a row, overseeing her peers’ investments and donating all profits made to many of Pitzer’s Scholarship Funds. She also completed the Computer Science sequence at Harvey Mudd College, giving her proficiency in basic computer science principles.

Zaineb has a great deal of experience tutoring young adolescents through organizations such as Reading Partners as well as working with individual students. She attained a perfect score on the Reading and Writing section of the SAT, and she specializes with Ivy in College Readiness, SAT, Spanish, and Computer Science.

During her time at Pitzer, Zaineb was involved in various hands-on roles in the financial services industry, including derivative analysis and investment research for the hedge fund Altair Capital as an Options Risk Analyst. She also gained exposure to the private side of the market through her summer internship at Presidio Partners, a San Francisco based venture capital firm. She gained experience by assessing several different start-ups and their founding entrepreneur teams to determine the best investment ideas in the growing technology market.

Above all else, Zaineb is a life-long learner. She is currently pursuing the SIE exam and Series 7 license and is excited about going back to school for an MBA in the coming years. She has a passion for education and has been tutoring high school students pursuing college admissions for three years.

In her free time, Zaineb enjoys playing volleyball, traveling, and trying as many new restaurants in San Francisco as she can. She also loves reading, cooking, and hanging out with her two kitties.
